What size are App Store screenshots in 2026?
The primary required size is iPhone 6.9" at 1290 × 2796 pixels (portrait). Apple now generates the smaller iPhone sizes from your 6.9" set, but you can still upload dedicated 6.5", 6.7", and 5.5" screenshots. For iPad, use the 13" size at 2064 × 2752. You can upload up to 10 screenshots per device.
What size are Google Play screenshots?
Google Play phone screenshots are commonly 1080 × 1920 pixels (a 9:16 ratio). Each side must be between 320px and 3840px and the aspect ratio must fall between 16:9 and 9:16. You need 2 to 8 phone screenshots, plus a required 1024 × 500 feature graphic.
Do I need every iPhone size?
No. Apple requires the iPhone 6.9" set and will scale it down for older devices automatically. Uploading dedicated 6.5" or 5.5" screenshots only matters if you want pixel-perfect control on those specific displays.
Portrait or landscape?
Most apps use portrait, since that's how people hold their phones and browse the stores. Upload landscape only if your app is landscape-first (for example, a game). You can't mix orientations within a single device's screenshot set.
What format should screenshots be?
Both stores accept PNG and JPEG. Apple requires RGB and no transparency for screenshots; Google Play accepts 24-bit PNG or JPEG. Keep each file under the store's size cap (App Store: 500 MB per file; Play: 8 MB).
