Free App Store Keyword Field Generator

Paste your app name, subtitle and keyword ideas. You get a keyword field that fits Apple's 100-character limit, separated by commas with no spaces, with every word already in your title or subtitle removed and plurals collapsed, because Apple indexes all three fields as one set of words.

Your field appears here as you type.

Runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent or stored.

How it works

Three steps, no sign-up

01

Enter your title and subtitle

Apple reads the app name, subtitle and keyword field together. Any word in the first two is already indexed, so repeating it in the keyword field wastes characters.

02

Paste your keyword ideas

Comma separated or one per line, most important first. Phrases are fine: they are split into single words, because Apple combines words across fields to match longer searches.

03

Copy the field into App Store Connect

The result is already in Apple's format: lowercase, comma separated, no spaces, 100 characters or fewer. Every word that was left out comes with the reason.

The rules the generator applies

  • 100 characters maximum, counting commas.
  • No space after commas. A space is a wasted character.
  • No word that is already in your app name or subtitle.
  • Singular or plural, not both. Apple matches either form.
  • No filler words like "app", "the", "and", "free" or "best".
  • Single words, not phrases. Apple combines words across title, subtitle and keyword field.
Worked example

A worked example

A habit tracking app with a solid title and subtitle, and a loose list of ideas copied from a brainstorm.

In: App nameHabitly: Habit Tracker
In: SubtitleDaily routine planner
In: Ideashabit, trackers, goals, goal, streak, the app, routine, reminders, journal, self care
Out: Keyword fieldgoals,streak,reminders,journal,self,care
Out: Length40 of 100 characters, 60 left for more ideas
Out: Droppedhabit, trackers (in title), routine (in subtitle), goal (plural of goals), the, app (filler)

Pasted as typed, the same list would use 85 characters, most of them on spaces, filler and words Apple already indexes.

100 characters, including commas. It is set per localization in App Store Connect and is not visible on your product page.
No. Apple splits the field on commas, so a space after each comma only uses up characters. Write word, word, word.
No. Apple indexes the app name, subtitle and keyword field together, so a word that is already in the title or subtitle gains nothing from appearing again. Use the room for new words.
Usually not. App Store search generally matches singular and plural forms of English words, so one form is enough. The generator keeps whichever form you list first.
Single words. Apple can combine words from the title, subtitle and keyword field to match a longer search, so "habit" in the title plus "journal" in the keyword field can match "habit journal" without spending characters on the phrase.
Apple's App Review Guidelines prohibit using other apps' names or trademarks in your metadata, including the keyword field. Apps get rejected for it, so leave them out.
